HU Professor Andrea Walther honoured by SIAM

International Society for Applied Mathematics has named the mathematician as 2025 SIAM Fellow in recognition of her contributions to algorithmic optimisation and automatic differentiation

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) has appointed Andrea Walther, Professor of Mathematical Optimisation at Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin and spokesperson of the MATH+ Cluster of Excellence, as a 2025 SIAM Fellow. With this award, SIAM, an international society for applied mathematics based in Philadelphia, USA, each year honours members for their outstanding contributions to applied mathematics and related fields.

Andrea Walther is being honoured for her work in the field of algorithmic optimisation and automatic differentiation. Being selected as a Fellow is one of the highest honours awarded by the society, which has around 14,000 members worldwide.
